Sunday Guest - Historic Vernon AME

Our next Visit Sunday is here! As we close out Juneteenth weekend, we’re headed to a place where Black history, faith, and community have stood tall for over a century: The Historic Vernon AME @vernonametulsa in Greenwood!

Built in 1905, Vernon is the only church in the Greenwood District with part of its original structure still standing after the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. Its basement sheltered survivors, and today it continues to be a powerful symbol of strength and joy in our city.
